Iam new to xbox and have a slim model with hitachi drive manufacturing date 23 Aug 2011. Please advice on my flashing/modding options available.

there is no way you can mod the dvd drive

You might be able to RGH it, but you wont be able to mod the DVD drive.

In order to RGH, you have to confirm you have a trinity motherboard.

RGH cannot go on xbox live ever.

However TX have just announced the have cracked the Corona board as well so you would be able to RGH it either way soon.

From the power socket identification mine seems to be a corona but its 9.6A not 9.86A as shown in the picture.
Now with corona/hitachi ... do I have any modding options ..

not until team-xecuter releases the new method to RGH corona, your hitachi probably will never be hacked. They haven't even began looking at it, but maybe now that its more common they will.

Not yet give it a little more time TX sated the other day they have made progress. People are just waiting on its release now
