Hi all

I have a bit of a problem

I have an XBox with a knackered Hitachi 47 drive in it and need to swap it for an Hitachi 59

I connected it to the internet and updated to the latest dash, read the key off the 47 and auto spoofed it into the 59

Now I can get most games to work except the newer Xdg3.

Therefore the key must be correct, but why would the Xdg3 games not work, this applies to originals and backups.

Can anyone help.

Thanks

Well, that's weird, considering sub-78 hitachis don't do AP25/XGD3 at all.

As a general rule, spoof=fail. With sub-78 hitachis, spoofing a higher number drive as a lower number drive is supposed to be one of the rare exceptions, but something's not right, because, well, you are unable to play some games.. tongue.gif

What firmware did you flash the new drive with? latest iXtreme?

What was knackered about the old drive? If the PCB is ok, then you might just consider swapping the boards, or lasers. Both are very streightforward, and neither require soldering. You might also take a look at doing some maintainence on your laser. Again, this is assuming that "knackered" means "having trouble reading discs" or "motor is dead" and not "board is borked"

Clean the laser lens with a Q-Tip and 90% Isopropyl Alcohol
Pot Tweak - http://bit.ly/hGWaQ4
Or replace the laser. Sammy <--> Phat Hitachi, Benq <--> Phat Liteon works

Hope this helps!

The old 47 drive just wont read disk and thought that swapping the drive would be easier.

In jungleflasher I extracted the key from the 47, loaded the 2.01 firmware into the target, spoofed the key, went into the hitachi tab, click on autospoof then write the new key to the 59.

Have i done anything wrong?

I think I might know why its not working

I did the dash update with the new 59 drive rather than the original 57 drive. (stupid I know)

The 57 had the new 47 key injected onto it then I updated the dash.

Then I updated the firmware to 2.01 on the 59

Now only Xdg3 games wont work, all other games work fine (originals and backups)

Is there any way to fix this

maybe the console isn't supposed to have a hitachi in it at all. what is the service/manu date on the case?

It's very easy to open the case and keep the warranty stickers intact once you've done it a few times.

The manufacuture date is august 2006 so it should have either hitachi or sammy

if you say you have a hitachi why are u using the 2.01 firmware when hitachis latest is LT+2.0
2.01 firmware is for sammies
use the LT+2.0 for hitachis

u can still get new hit 47's on ebay pretty cheap
buy one and inject your orig key into it
or swap the orig 47 pcb board and put in your 59

he is trusted used to be on ebay then branched into his own store

why dont you take the PCB from the bad drive and put it in the good drive. Then it will be the same drive that was in your console.

Right

I have tried injecting the key into a sammy ms28 and it still does the same, will play all games except xdg3 ones

I am totally bamboozled now.
