Long time, no post.

Im back again with another 360. I grabbed this one for $26 and it doesnt have an E71 or RROD (LUCKY!!!)

Anyway it does have a problem. It doesnt read game disc. Ive tried cleaning it and multiple original disc and it still doesnt work. The drive makes a really weird sound when trying to read them.

The drive is a LiteOn so extracting the drive key takes alot of effort with prob and all (at least it did back in the day).

I remember hearing about a dash update that changed drive keys once applied, so if you didnt have your key before the update your really screwed now (again the old information I once read.)

The 360 has Dashboard 2.0.14719.0

Any help on how to recover this drive key so I can order an replacement drive?

As long as its the original drive with original key, the key is not changed by the dash update, but the drive revision is changed to 0251, all liteons in phat consoles are changed to 0251 after 13146 dash update I think.

if you want the key you need a probe or build a PMT to get the key.

You can also RGH if its not the original drive with original key

Also you might need a new laser as well, or just replace the whole drive and put the firmware and key on the new drive.
