Is flashing the bios within evox safe. I would really like some input on which way people think is the safest bet without fraging the chip.

Use FlashX and do 1 half of the chip at a time, so that if you have a bad flash, you can boot off the good bios still in the other banks.

well I've never had a bad flash with evox either, but I don't want to take that risk.

If you're worried about ruining a chip, get a programmer if you have the xecuter 2 series or use FlashX like silentkiller said. As for a TSOP, make a multi bios switch.

I did try flashx but when it said last chance, click x to start it did not go anywhere. If i put flashx on cdrw but put the bios file on my xbox would it work that way.

The easiest way to flash your chip is through evox. Take off the flash protection jumper, then make a folder on your c drive called bios. Then put the 1 meg bios you want to flash the chip and then flash chip through evox. From past experience, this is the easiest way to flash a chip or a tsop as a matter of fact. Hope this helps.
