Hey everyone, ever since I did the 12 volt fan mod and cold cathode I have a weird problem... When I turn my xbox on I see the regular stuff, animation, X xbox logo, and "Xecuter 2" at the bottom. But recently after modding the "Xecuter2" logo takes a LONG time to come up atleast 2 mins! Sometimes it wont come up AT ALL and I have to power it off and try again. Other things that happen are sometimes the FAN will not turn on, other times it will, and the HDD ACTIVITY light I put in is SOLID with activity!? It's relaly really weird but I don;t like it and I hope its nothing serious...
I just unplugged it and plugged it back in and its acting perfectly normal again?
Please help!

I saw this on my friends Xbox...It turned out to be his DVD Drive...When the box boots it looks to see wut is in the dvd drive...if nothing then it goes to dash...His was totally fried not from pot tweak but fried...his Halo disc has a burn mark on it...When booting listen to the dvd drive see if it is making loading noises...If so shange with some1 else and then look a the loading times.

For real? I forgot to mention the DVD drive kept going "WHIR WHIR" also!! Aww son of a bitch, the drive in it has actually ALREADY been replaced cause it kept making clicking noises before! I bet its that fucking OXM demo disc i put in it, those are complete crap. Thats the LAST disc I put in it too, and I hadnt put ANYTHING in it for months. I RARELY RARELY ever use the dvd-rom cause everything is on the Hard-drive, and plus I have another stock xbox that I play any games that are on a disc. Shit This totally sux, are you sure its the dvd-rom? It started happening right after I put the cold cathode kit in, and the inverter for the cathode is behind the the DVD drive in that space.

i'd try and move the inverter out of the xbox maybe its causing interference somehow

I had the same thing happen with my X2 Pro when I first installed it. Turns out, my FCC cable was in the slot, but not COMPLETELY in. I think one of the pins was not making solid connection. I suggest trying to (If you have a PRO chip) realign the FCC cable. As a side not...I have had my inveerter behind my DVD drive for quite a while now, and it has not interfered with anything...

Ok turns out the inverter was giving interference to the dvd drive. What I did was get tin foil tape stuff and wrap the yellow cable in it, then wrap in electrical tape so it doesnt short anything, I did the same thing to the inverter box. Now it turns on everytime perfectly. I guess the 2,000 volts or whatever it is had an effect on the IDE cable or FCC cable (yellow wire thing?).
