I want to change my boot up X color and then reflash my xecutor 2.1 lite with evox. I don't have an external programmer so if anything goes wrong here i'll have a problem. I hear that it can be risky flashing with evox like it can give you errors sometimes or it wont flash correctly. Can anyone clear this up for me?

What you just said is perfectly true. Go and download something called FlashX (NOT Xflash) it'll let you flash half your modchips BIOS at a time, leaving a good bank to boot from incase something goes wrong just make a 512k BIOS file and flash that to the first bank, reboot and make sure it works fine, then flash the same 512k file to the 2nd bank.

Oh, okay, because I always thought that evox would only let you flash all the banks at once but I guess this program will get around that. Thanks a lot I'll try that and if I have any problems I'll ask.

If you use XBtool and get a bad flash (I did, but don't worry) it might give you Error 13 or another error. Just pop in an xISO'ed CD-RW with EvoX and a folder named BIOS (with the old bios that didn't screw up ur xbox) and there u go. Just go to System Utilities/Flash Bios/[biosfilename] and it should fix it.

No you cant, if you screw up your flash and you chip is blanked you're screwed unless you got an external programmer or you can hotswap on a mates XBOX.

No Hacked BIOS = Retail XBOX.

Why you think i said to use FlashX, you can ALWAYS recover from that as it will only flash half the chip at a time always leaving you with a good bank to boot from.

If you flash with a bad BIOS or a bad flash all together, then you will have to flash it externally then. Also, nothing unsigned will work regardless if it's on the HD or not.

I flashed my X2 lite+ within evox and did not have a problem at all. Some people are a bit worried about it but with any way of flashing can go wrong. I have a programmer as well in case i had a problem but when i use the programmer i have to take the chip off.
