If you absolutely MUST ask a question... use the "search" function of the forums to see if your question has been asked before! If not, expect a possible flame or a the very least a humorous quip about your question (Dark Schneider and myself will try to cover that as much as possible).

We ARE willing to help with legit questions... questions that ARE NOT legit:

1. What is Evolution X
2. How do I connect to my PC with my Xbox
3. How do I install a hard drive
4. Where can I download ________? (insert any possible program)
5. How do I copy games?
6. What brand of CD-R should I use? (you CAN'T use CDR!!!)
7. I fucked up my ________ because I'm a retard monkey and I didn't read the tutorials... what do i do?

I'm sure opjose, Dark Schneider, BIOYAM, The Legendary Rob, the ever drunk kkattfish, ferrell, retard monkey, the omnipresent Xantium and MANY MORE I didn't mention... will have more invalid questions that can (but should not) be asked... and they can add if they wish...

Please... do some research and try ONE PROJECT at a time!!! Do NOT try to replace your xbox dashboard with evox, make a reset switch and install a new HDD all in one day... take you time... PLAY your games and have fun!!!

This is a newbie section, but we are not automated people who answer the same questions over and over all day... it gets old, even though we really want to help. I know it's a lot of info to digest, but give it a shot...

I would not suggest just ignoring the posts. We were all new once, & some may be joining a forum for the first time or be really exited/anxious to get info (or are just plain lazy).
I think what makes this forum unique, is that we (members of this forum) answer most posts whether they are repititious or just plain silly, while keeping rediculing & flaming to a minimum.
The only thing that I would add to N00bvin 's post is that there is a very helpful tutorial section on xbox-scene.com & that it is located here: http://xbox-scene.com/tutorials.php
I really hope that this thread is pinned soon.

I've tried searching a couple of times in the last couple of days, and it says admin has shut it off. Anyone know when this will be back?

The front page lists that a RAM upgrade is being done today, so my guess would be later today provided that everything went well.

From what I have gathered from bits and pieces of information here and there, is that I can download games from the internet, and then burn them to a CD-RW or DVD-RW and then plop the thing into my XBOX. From there what do I do? Do I have to keep that CD-RW forever, or can I download it to my XBOX hard drive? How many games can I keep on my XBOX w/o updating my hard drive?

using evox u can ftp the files over, but you have to extract them. 3.

it depends on the size of the games. The drive is 5 gigs unless you utilize the f drive to get two extras. Hope this answers your questions.

you cannot burn xbox games without a dvd burner? and there's no use downloading them from the net and burning them - unless you have dvdr.

what about storing them on the hd ? can this be done using your home network and the xbox connected to it ?
