If anyone can help out, it would be much appreaciated!
Ok I just got my Pioneer 104 dvdrw yesterday, man i was excited like im sure most of you were , dvd burning! Well anyway, Along with it i got a Pioneer Dvd-RW. My others wont be in till next week. Anyway, I'v used two programs for this so far, Discjuggler 4. something, supports dvd
and Nero 5. something which supports dvd. Ok anyway, those are the two programs i only know to use, I tried burning Wreckless dvd version, and it seemed to work fine, put it in my xbox (modified with pc dvd rom) and it worked great, except the story parts where there is spoken words and subtitles lag like krazy. anyone else have that problem? I also tried it in the xbox's original drive and it acts the same way. Ok now, I wanted to try something else, so of course i wanted to erase my Dvdrw, Well nothing will erase it! it keeps saying erase failure and stuff like that, the dvdrw sayz on the case
Pioneer DVD-RW for video and data with CPRM , i dont exactly understand CPRM, but i dont think i like it smile.gif whats it all about? could that be the problem? im not sure though, but for the love of god it will not erase. I decided to try Updating my firmware on my burner, as its version 1.20 i think, and i see the newest firmware is version 202, but once again, no luck, i cant even change the firmware! I am using WinME, but luckily i had a bootdisk lying around with windows 98 on it and managed to get to dos. but with no luck, Hell i even went back and installed win98 and went to dos prompt, and still it wont update it, whats wrong?? can anyone give me any tips on these problems. it finds the drive and sayz, now update mode setup executing, then it gives some numbers and sayz, failed, error: sense key =5 < something like that, no matter what i do! and i know im typing in the write thing seeing as my dvd rom is secondary Master. can anyone help with these problems? Im really new to this. any tips or any info would be great, sorry for the long post, im just fed up with it! no firmware! no dvdrw erasing! i dont get it, thanks in advance
pmow
I've gotten a lot of errors like that. Try using Prassi PrimoDVD 2.0. It works for all my stuff. I don't trust nero with erasing or even burning dvds.

thanks for the reply
i tried prassi primo dvd 2.0, and guess what, it still doesnt erase the disc.
Im guessing it has something to do with this CPRM thats on the disc!
any other ideas?? i dont understand this at all -sigh-
read about cprm but doesnt make much sense to me
aye
if anyone has any ideas
this is really bothering me

pmow
mmm, try another disc, since you have no control to test what is bad.

I suggest going to a popular computer retailer, and buy Sony or Verbatim brand DVD-RWs. These should work for sure, but they're expensive. If anything, you can return them (although they're supposed to charge 15% restocking where I bought mine, they didn't do that). Have you thought about:

Backing up the rars on DVD disc and
burning the games you currently play on DVD-RWs?

Saves money and HD space.

aye
well i heard someone say they use dvdrw's with cprm's and have no problem
i dunno, i have more media coming but not till monday
plus remember, i cannot for the life of me update the firmware on this thing
, which makes no sense to me

i like your idea on the back up of the rars, thanks

anymore help or if anyone knows nething
please
thanks

Hey pmow
Which firmware does your drive have?
Mine has 1.20
iv been trying to up it to the newest 2.02
but it wont do it for some reason,
maybe its the firmware thats causing it to not work properly with the disc
lemme know about that
