Hi there first of all im from sweden so forgive me if i cant write well.
and heres the problem i want to present.

The usually green light on the eject button on my xbox now blinks red and orange after a while it stays orange, the games work and everything but the only difference is as i said that the green light is replaced with a orange light. But now when i tried to put in a 120GB harddrive i cant runt the games the menu works fine! but i cant load the games...i get the green evox logo and then i get back to the menu. its very strange? but what does the lamps indicate when i start the xbox? first red/orange and then only orange? and how can i fix this problem. it seems like nowone in sweden can fix this problem. do you have any advice?
very grateful for answers.

It may be either

1. Overheating issues

2. AV Cable Issues

3. Something totally different

well...when you dont plug your AV Cables in..you normally get some kind of orange light...as in the cord that plugs into the back of the xbox and goes into the TV...it is not securely plugged into the Xbox
reidar22
but ive putted it in correctly. and i can see the menu.. som people says that the metal thing you use (dont know the name) do make the wires stick that that thing connect other small holes on the motherboard..do you understand what i mean?because i almost ddnt understood that myself
reidar22
and by the way i dont think it can be het problem because the top of the xbox is open. But maybe because of the white thing you put in the fan wire is out of place. maybe its beacause of that? Do you think it could be that?

I'm really not sure because your Xbox still boots the dashboard...are you able to FTP?
reidar22
yes FTP is no problems. but i forgot to nemtion one thing. When i changed harddrive i first used it in my own computer and then i putted it back after using hdprepare. but it worked i could install the bios and transfer games thrue FTP so i dont understand why the Evo-x logo comes up. Could i forgot something when i changed the harddrive?
CaliSurfer008
So EVERYTHING works but flashing orange light for just a little bit?
reidar22

I am going to try to help, but see the disclaimer in my sig.

What chip is it?
What bios is on the chip?
What version of Evox?
Does Evox ever freeze when idle?
Do all the installed "programs" show up in the loader?

Try changing your evox skin to the original as it will give you temperature readings. This will rule out a temperature problem. Try not to run for extended periods of time with the cover off. Belive it or not, the cover helps to cool by giving the air flow a particular path.

I think it might be a corrupt bios or an intermittent lpc connection/crossover.

Orange light... quite strange.
