when i click on winLPC i get this message "Wrong or no device found!Please set the correct settings or check if programer is connected"

i'm stuck here totally clueless about what to do, some one please take pitty on this clueless Newb.

i am using the matrix chip, it is attatched to the programmer & in the printer port & the battery is in it & the light glows red.
i read the trouble shooting thing on there web site but i'm probably doing half the stuff wrong & when i go into windows device manager i don't really know what i'm looking for.

thanks in advance to anyone who has a few pearls of wisdom to drop on me

some one has to know what to do, or point in the direction of the info i require cause i can't find it

i've got some advice for you, take your chip & programmer & go down to work & use there PC & it will run smooth as can be.
Now its just taken me several days to figure that out, thank you everyone for your help
