Hi Guys ....

sorry this question without searching the forum (but the + symbol will not work).

Here the question:

At office I have a DVD+RW burner from HP.
In tutorials the people are posting only things with DVD-R DVD-RW.
Is the X-Box DVD reader able to read also DVD+R and DVD+RW???

who really knows, some peeps say it can others say it cannot. It has not worked for me and I have tried different brands of dvd+rw's. I will be testing dvd-r and dvd-rw tomorrow night. I have the new sony dru500a. which does both standards. I will post my findings tomorrow night. What brand dvd+rw do you have?

I also read that it seems to like the xbox thompson drive more than the phillips. I have the phillips. But then you see posts where peeps are not having problems at all. I am beggining to think that it is all luck. who Knows!

Good luck. beerchug.gif

My HP DVD200i burns Xbox games on DVD+R just wonderful. No problems, but make sure you test out some different brands of media to be sure. I am using Verbatim DVD+R. Good Luck.

does the color really matter? I have seen some posts from opjose writing that it is better on gold than silver. Would like to find out from you peeps?

I just ordered some dvd-r, and dvd-rw will test on those and then If needed I will test on dvd+r. ph34r.gif

DVD media suffers less from this because the Xbox is tuned for the frequencies used on DVD's.

Most DVD-R/RW & DVD+R/RW has worked fine on all of my Xboxes so far.

Philips DVD+RW here, works fine with Memorex +RW media

I have an hp dvd 200i and I use DVD+R and +RW with the cheapest media I've been able to find (Meritline) and it all works smoothly. Not sure which DVD drive I have in the xbox, though.

Using an HP DVD200e burner, and (so far) have only tried HP media...the +RW discs I use work fine in my Xbox AND PS2, but the +R discs I've used won't play in my Xbox...they do however, play in my PS2. (neither are modded, I'm only bothering with DVD movies right now).

I did have to recently re-buy my Xbox (it's the Sega GT\Jet Set bundle), is MS using a DVD-ROM that can't read +R's now? Or should I just try some different brand media...seems strange my PS2 likes it, but the Xbox doesn't.
