hi again,

i have managed to break the trace going to the alternate d0 point under the motherboard on both sides of the d0 point about 1mm of trace is missing, now the xbox just does nothing power on no video signal,

i am getting an xecuter 2.2 lite modchip this week , the top d0 point is untouched, my question is if i connect the xecuter modchip to the top d0 point will the modchip work without having to repair the alternate d0 trace. if you know what i mean , kinda long winded i know.

thanks for help

No i think you have to repair the trace. I did the same a few months back, but it only took me about 10 mins to fix. Try using one strand of wire and melting it into each side of the broken trace with a soldering iron and you should be good. BE CAREFUL

Repairing a trace is more difficult than soldering to the d0, but hey...what do you have to lose.

In addition to what bigga said, if you're having difficulty getting the wire to stick to the trace, you may have to rub or scrape some of the lacquer away. Just use a jumper wire to connect the bottomside d0 to the topside d0's TRACE. Then just connect the chip to either one.
