Ok, here is my problem...

Just installed my 2.2+ and all appeared to go well (got led 4 to light up). I installed a 120gb maxtor hard drive while I had the box open (before booting with the factory drive). Booted normally with chip disabled, and got bot an error 5 and an error 16 message and FRAG... So tried the disable to MS dash, and then quick enable, and got the FlashBios screen to come up, put in my slayer's disc and it said "no bios update found.... Halting"

So here is my question(s)... Is it possible to use slayer's in this scenario? Is it possible to use the new hard drive without first using the factory drive to flash the bios? And what do those error messages mean...

I really appreciate any help you can give me, I have done a search, but really couldn't find much relavent info...

first you need to put your factory hdd back in before you do anything else. you need to backup c: and e: once evox is running.

second dont use slayers, installing evox the normal way really isnt that hard and it will give you knowlege for troubleshooting future probs.


now for your problem...
your chip is preflashed with the cromwell bios which can only be used to run linux.
you need to flash your chip with a different bios that allows you to install evox.
