hi just wondering if superglue is safe to use on the xbox mainboard, quite a few people have said its fine to just push the wire into the d0 point on top of the board so it fits snuggly then place a small blob of superglue on top to hold it in place, is this true.

I suppose if you can get a connection, but if you can't your D0 will be gunked up with superglue. The best way to install a chip is with good old fashioned solder. I wouldn't even consider sticking my D0 down with super glue

I would say if you really don't want to solder the chip in, then buy a solderless mod such as x2.2lite+ or chameleon with adaptor (I would say x2.2lite+ because I haven't seen any tuts yet for chameleon)

Don't use super glue. Super glue bonds items by creeping between them. This means you will have glue BETWEEN your wire and D0, making a good connection LESS likely.

you're probably thinking of hot glue (which is safe to use btw) and not super glue

where can you get hot glue from , i'm in the uk , anyone know?

any hardware store, im sure they have them over there

If you can fit a wire "snuggly" into D0 (which would be a REALLY small wire) then I would DEFINITELY solder it because it would be really easy then.....

If the D0 point on top of the MB is too small for ya then flip the MB over and you'll see the D0 on the bottom side. It has a bigger contact on the bottom than on the top.

Hot glue works great, it's ideal to use after soldering a wire to the D0 point - keeps the wire in place so that it can't be yanked/loosened from its solder point. It will also help "insulate" any exposed wires, such as the stripped end of the wire where you've soldered to a D0 or any other point on the motherboard. Hot glue won't harm your motherboard nor does it get hot enough to damage anything, such as traces or solder points.
