No. You can connect the xbox direct to your pc using a crossover cable, or using a router. A broadband connection is not required for any of these, however a NIC (network interface card) is required.

like everyone else is saying u need a networking card in ur computer then u need a crossover cable (Used to connect the X-Box to the Computer) or u can use a hub and use a Cab 5 cable to go to the hub and the x-box and from the PC to the hub and u can plug multiple computers in also :S its not rocket sience ya know and if it is then slap me can call me STUPID. well im waiting for the Slaps
