Hi all

I have been using mxm for a while now and had no major probs untill now.

Ok i decided to take advantage of mxm so i installed a 120gig hard drive using slayers 2.1 (all ok no problem).

Installed mxm 0.9n.4 copied some games and previews onto hard drive no probems

Anyway i decided to put xbox media player back on my box. When i try to launch xbmp it comes up with (unable to create control) error message

I have allways used xbmp to stream all of my films and music, again no probs

Well i don't know if this problem has to do with mxm or not.

By the way i have no config, i am using auto config (if that makes sense) lol

Well XBMP works fine for me and many other, I suggest to download 2.4 and unpack it to make a fresh install. Then you open up your old config.xml and cut 'n paste your variables, dont copy to whole file, that messed up my xbmp, because there are new strings or something...

I think you were supposed to delete the system.bin file @ E:/TDATA/0face007/ before reinstalling or ugrading XBMP.

That may help.

I'm pretty sure you could delte it even after reinstalling or upgrading. I did.

If any program REALLY needs an installer, it's XBMP.


As cool as it is, the quirks are just unfathomable for an open source application. Have they got things going so SVCD/VCD/DVD movies play on insertion, without navigating through menus to get it up and running?

Not yet you still have to navigate through the dirs to get vcd/svcd's playing. Should be easy enough to implement if someone gets around to it. The problem however is that the auto detection of iso/udf mode needs some tweaking.

DVD support is still minimal since Grompf (at least I think that's who implemented it) got it pretty much working but then had to leave it in a half finished state since RL issues intruded and he hasn't had the time to finish it.

The code you suggested for getting an xbe's launch dir has just been implemented (thanks for that by the way) but it's broken a couple of things namely dash functionality and filezilla. However once it's working it should make it much easier to install and setup.

So it's progressing slowly but surely!

When i go back to my ftp this file "E:/TDATA/0face007/" has re appeared lol

I will now remove xbmp and "E:/TDATA/0face007/" Then try and copy xbmp over again

That file will always be there as long as you run XBMP. Buy deleting it, you let the new version of XBMP2.4 update the file. Make sure your XBMP config file looks right.

Sorry guys for wasting your time i have found my problem

Ok what i did was re unzipped my xbmp and copied the files over to my box.
Now all is sweet

Before i used my old xbmp files i copied from my old xbox hard drive and there must have been some files missing. lol
