Okay guys I am extremely frustrated right now. I have an Xbox modded with the "007" softmod. A version 1.0 flashed with no chip installed. I have a 120 gig harddrive installed on the box and that works fine. Now there are several games I am trying to back up on the box harddrive that will simply NOT WORK! Such as Midtown Madness 3, Brute Force, Burnout 2 etc. Bruteforce for instance will freeze at the loading screen yet it works fine on DVD. That is the case with all these games. I have tried several different patchers including Craxion. Games like Halo for some reason I had to patch, but that worked fine. Btw my Bios is Version: EvoX D.6ef. Any suggestions? Thanks!
esdubu
try reflashing with the latest xecutor bios x4977. this autopatches games when they run i believe. Failing that use pxhddloader 1.2a to copy the games onto your hdd. That always works for me.
regulat0r
Ah thanks for the reply, can you direct me to where I can find pxhddloader 1.2a? Also will that ONLY extract from DVD? or will it do bins as well. Thanks!
esdubu
try looking on xbins. not sure about it reading bins. i've only used it with dvd discs.
regulat0r
I appreciate the info. Px HDDLOADER 1.2a does not do the trick for me. I was browsing the forums and saw this link. Forum Post I don't know, even though I am using the "cheap mod" it still should work fine with the latest bios shouldn't it? I dunno what is up. I haven't extracted games using the FTP yet, but I don't think that is the issue.

Edit: Games that I use the Px HDDLOADER on don't load even partially, they just go to a black screen. And BTW, in which folder do my games I extract with HDDloader go to? I can't seem to find them so in order to delete them. I see a folder in /E/ called HDDloader, but it happens to be empty. I know when I extracted the games they said they were going to "partition 6" wherever that is:/ I have searched everywhere.
esdubu
you'll be ok using the latest x2 bios with your cheapmod. that's what i have in my xboxes.
there should be another folder called hddloader in your f: drive. that's where your games will be. there are two because you have the option of ripping games to either drive by pressing the white button while in pxhddloader.
regulat0r
Christ I am blind. Thanks:) I'll try to figure this out. I am reassured though that the cheapmod was not a bad idea. If others can get some of these things working, then I don't see why I can't. But I know I am doing everything correctly.
esdubu
you might want to temporarily try my evox.ini to see if it's an evox problem.

just copy and paste

if you are using ADRpatcher, then its cause you need the latest patchdata file dated 4-17-03
sCoTxXx
Correct, if you are patching new games you need to update the data file that came with the original patching program. The original searched for media
check 1 which was a longer hex string. The update file searches for a shorter string, i think they call it media check 2. Anyway you can download it Here just take this file and put it in the folder where the other one is and replace it. Then patch your whole .iso or the .xbe files, which ever you prefer. I like patching the whole .iso to make sure I get them all. But if you are running games off hd then just make sure to do all the .xbe files so you dont miss any and have problems. Good luck!
regulat0r
Thanks for all the replies! No luck with the ADR Patcher w/ the newest patch. I tried patching Midnight Club 2 and it said it found 3 patch locations from my ISO but for some reason it still did not work, and some other games that don't work un burned (as backups) don't even show they need patches. I think I am gonna try esdubu's INI temporarily, I hope this is safe:o
Xeero
If it freezes when playing from the hard drive and you have IGR off, then chances are you backed it up wrong. PX HDD Loader will skip files if it experiences a read error. You could try DVD2Xbox.

And just to clarify, when I say "type 2 media check" or anything along those lines, I'm referring to both the long and short string. The first media check exists in all games. Even Halo has a media check. It's just that mod chips as far back as the Enigmah Final bypass this media check, so most people don't even know about it.
regulat0r
well crap I never had IGR off, it was on, lemme try this:)
regulat0r
OMFG I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Turning of that IGR Bull shit worked!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now one more quick question, and thanks again... but Evox should have a tutorial on customizing the evox.ini shouldn't it on their website? Because esdubu had some cool things in his, ill prolly just take what I want from his config and put it in mine.
