I read Michael Steils howto install linux
http://xbox-linux.sourceforge.net/articles...he%20Xbox%20FAQ. And as i understood it there's no-way i can upgrade my hdd and have linux to run and play xbox-games from my hdd. did i get it right or not. Well, linux isn't too important to have(although it would be nice) but it must be possible to do these phoenix-stuffs and be able to upgrade hdd and run games from hdd??
Thanx for the one(s) clearing this up for me

no, u can upgrade ur drive. all u need is an eeprom dump from ur xbox. evox can provide this through its backup thing (however, the mechinstaller doesn't install evox). with that eeprom dump, u can calculate a new hd key for a new hard drive with liveinfo. write an image of ur old hard drive to the new drive, lock the new hard drive with that new key, put the new drive in the box, format F: with one of various tools (evox can do it), and voila..... u have tons of space to put games, movies, emulators, music, etc...
