Definitely Ritek. The reason why so few have answered this is because it has been answered many times before. As far as new and old Ritek discs, I'm sure what people are talking about are the G03=1x/2x Riteks and the G04=4x Riteks. I have used both the 1x/2x Riteks and the 4x Riteks and have found them to be equal in reliability. Go to meritline, allmediaoutlet or rima.com to find the Riteks.

It is hard to determine a single brand and type of media that will work for you. It will depend on your Xbox DVD drive and your DVD burner.
For example, I had some CompUSA DVD-R's that worked fine with my Philips Xbox drive when I burned them with a NEC burner. However, the same discs refused to be recognized by the Xbox when I burned them with my new Optorite DVD burner.
Compatibility rates are ridiculous these days, and the fact that there's 2 competing DVD formats doesn't help either.
Here's a short list that I've compiled so far strictly from my own experience.
Xbox drive: Philips
DVD Burner: NEC
Compatible media: CompUSA DVD-R (Lead Data LD01)
Incompatible media: don't know
Xbox drive: Philips
DVD Burner: Optorite
Compatible Media: Taiyo Yuden "That's" DVD+R; Philips DVD+R (made in Taiwan)
Incompatible media: CompUSA DVD-R (Lead Data LD01)

Because it's been covered sooooooooooo many times before. I'm closing this thread now, and you can do searches on media brands. It's all been covered here before.
