can i just go to comp usa and buy a sam 616t drive and mount it or do i need to mod it is there any tutorials any info will help need asap thanks

You need to mod it, but it's worth it, check out the tutorials section on the main site for more info.

Yup it needs to be modded. If you can put in a modchip then modding a Samsung 616T will be no sweat. I don't believe you can simply pick up the drive from a local computer store anymore though. There are some websites that carry them and as always you can find them on ebay. As mentioned above if you have the means the drive is well worth it. Reads all types of media. Another added bonus that I have found with mine is that it boots games faster (both original and backup). Anybody else notice the quicker loading times?

no... get one from this guy!! just put mine in last noght, works PERFECTLY.
Had to mod my case a bit though..but if you look in the thread there are a few links showing what to do. I just had to sand down and cut some plastic off..easy with a dremel. Well worth it.
