***ERROR I RECIEVE****
CHEAPLPC on printer port at 0x378
LPC bus error - peripheral returned SYNC=0F
error getting device ID at address FFC00000
Device not supported
I have underclocked the cpu, made sure the bios setting has the parallel port on ecc+ecp on inturrupt 378, have loaded the XP I/O port driver patch, asked for help on the different IRC chans (they think there god, but minus the help and sense of humour) and nothing has worked, others say to use a different pc, I have NO access to a different pc, is there a way to program this chip another way?
I have tried it all, the chip lights up constant red when its plugged into my para port, when i run the wmilk thing get the same errors posted above, even tried with the flashpack (wmilk and evo25 bios with batch installer) same error,, can it be a fualty programmer? I dunno since i have access to only 1 pc, (pc's at work have admin locked access, library personell think i'm a frikkin bad guy when i whip out the mod and programmer and start reachin for the libraries para port, and I only have 1 pc in the house, got firends, but there pc is the dreamcast and xbox... ghetto as XXXX) so can some 1 help??

Just tried the new Matrix flash tool, (on home page of this site) didnt worl, the funny thing is tho, when i goto work, and run the proggy, it shows the options (ie: read, program etc) without the programmer or modchip installed ( they fire ppl over here for that) but at home, even with it plugged in, it still gives the "device not detected" error, im thinking i might need lpt drivers for xp if any1 has any recommendations please post them... tia

I'm right there with ya. Same problem with the XP machine, I also got the same error on my 2000 machine as well.
If anyone knows of this issue please let us know.
Oddly enough I terminal serviced into my domain controller and ran the GUI updater. It ran the program but could not connect to the device. Ah well.
BTW, yes I know how to search the forum, but it is down

I got my Matrix today. I get the same exact problem with the above error. And I am running Windows 2000. Tomorrow I will try it in Office on a different PC. But then again all the PC's there are Windows 2000.
Any updates or views anyone. Please help us?

I have Windows XP Professional. I am using a program called WinLCP. First make sure everything is hooked up firmly on the back of your computer (Solid Red Light) Then open the program in Win Zip...DO NOT extract, for some odd reason it wont work then. A message should pop up saying do you aggree to the licences and terms. If that workd then you are good from there on. Another thing you might want to make sure is if your file is 256K NOT 1 MB. Anymore questions Email me at <kyle@marinlan.com>

Im back... FINALLY GOT IT PROGRAMED..
My solution was to hold the programmer in(firmly and making sure it had a straight and flush connection to the pc) and ran the xodus' winlcp, it did the trick, i confirmed it twice with the program and installed it (stripped 3 damn screws in the process) now its in, but my only prob is i can hear the sound, but do not see the pic on my burnt games, (using pioneer DVD-R's) but retail games play fine... I guess that will be my next rant... well good luck to all, and if it says it cannot read the lpc port and u have changed ya bios to make the lpc port 378 (i also left my system overclocked and set to spp for parallel port on 0x378) then try the holding in the programmer trick ..gotta keep it straight in.. well im out to try out hitman2 and timesplitters, wish me luck cuz trial and error is expensive when dealing with dvd-r's .......btw... isnt there a media list with the top dvd/cd-r's for the xbox floatin around>? plz post link so we all dont waste money on dvd-r's and cd=rw's that wont work... thx for the tips all
