Smoke dog
I've been using a 120gb hd for about a month but lately its been playing up.

From cold it would sometimes not boot up, giving me a error 7 or 9. But I found if I leave it running for a few minutes and restart it would boot up huh.gif

Does anyone have the same problem or anyone know why this is happening?

Thx
Booger Bob

No I don't have any extra cooling. The CPU temp is about 60c.

I've had ALOT of people bring me Xbox's that where getting error 7 and 9. All of them where upgraded 7200 RPM HDD's with no cooling fan.

EVERY Xbox I've put a fan under the HDD, there has been NO over heating and no error codes 9 or 7.

If you spend $100 on a HDD, you might as well spend another $10 to protect your investment. A $10 fan will make your HDD last the life of the system.

Thats why I only charge $10 (includes the fan) to add a fan under 7200 RPM drives... because you WILL have problems down the road. And if they can't afford $10 extra, I'll try to work something out.

You really, really, really should have a fan under a 7200RPM drive.
