I just downloaded the PPF package and whenever I try to open "makePPF3" it opens the window but immediately closes on me. I'd like to make PPF files, but I don't know how to fix this. Any suggestions?

btw I'm using WindowsXP

it's prob. some dos program that you run with msdos and enter the program location and stuff. I don't like using those.

Just goto www.xbox-wired.com and get a program called ppf studio

programs easy to use. Enter name of ppf, location of original halo cache map, the modified map. And then make patch.

I had a problem yesterday with size, ppf's 1mb-10mb. I found that when i used the option to search whole map for all changes, it sais there were thousands of changes, even though i only changed a few things. So use the specific area part. The hex having to do with guns, vehicles and all that tend to be in the 30000000-46000000 area. So enter that area in box, and narrow it down if it says it found thousands. I tend to have around 19-23 cheats modified so i look for those numbers.

If you create a patch at say, 19, and patch gives error when you put it on, create one at 18, then goto top and rename file like adding a "2" and goto 20 and save. Then do a 3rd and goto 21. One of them if bound to work, but only keep the ones that are like 1k or so. I've had it before where a 23 cheat one was 800k, and then when i redid it with 23 and stopped at a diff. area it would be lower and under a kb.
