Hey guyz and girlz,
well the problem is that games lock up (freeze) when being played for like 15-20 mins...
So when this happens:
-Can't press in game reset...
-Controller Vibrates a lot
-Screen stays frozen...
The games that freeze are: Halo (Retail), Brute Force, Tony Hawk 4, Midnight CLub 2, more...
I got XBOX 1.1, my XBOX is a homebrew, EvoX 1.8.3285, the original stocked WD 8GB...
Well hope that there is a solution.
Thanks guyz...
Latez.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be my 10GB seagate drive. I just stuck it in my pc and fdisk/formatted it then rebuilt back back in my xbox. Now it works fine with no more freezing problems.

k, I updated to the 1.8.3752 evoxdash, but now it just freezes without my controller vibrating which could be a good thing.

I’ve been having the same problems with almost all of my backed up games. The only games that haven’t froze during game play are Soul Calibur II and Otagi. I have a Chameleon modchip, Xecuter 4977 bios, and the newest evox dash. I have a Maxtor 120 gig HDD (model # 6y120p0) I’ve tried clearing my x, y, z disc cache and no results. I’ve tried toggling “IGR” off in evox , still nothing. To extract these ISO’s I used “SimpleXISO”. I use ws_FTP to ftp these files over to the XBOX and I doubt it’s my ftp program. I have used the search feature on this board but I keep coming up short so if anyone knows a fix on this problem I’d really appreciate it!! Thanks!

I think it’s my mother board I just bought on ebay. I have a solderless chameleon so it’s idiot proof if you don’t try to solder the E/P points which I didn’t on this mobo. SO I removed everything that I put in it (120g HDD and modchip) and put everything back together stock as it would have been if I bought it yesterday. I powered up Mech Assault (not a back up since the system is running stock) and it froze during gameplay! How F’ed up is that? I contacted the seller of the motherboard, still waiting for his reply. Maybe some other people are having the same problem as me and don't know it. Could be your graphics chip getting over heated for some reason or another. Why else would it just freeze with out any modchip or “large” HDD in it? I wish i knew...

i have the same problem with a broken xbox i bought on ebay. i don't think it's the motherboard, i think it's the HDD (at least i hope so). i do notice that the large heat sink gets very hot after 10-15 minutes of play. i am not sure what that heat sink cools, but maybe that's it too. i hope it isn't the video chip, but you never know.

Yeah, you never know! That's the problem sad.gif But I had the factory HDD in there and no mod chip so everything was stock and it froze on a "real" DVD game. So it can't be the 120 g HDD if it isn't in the system! So I have no idea... But the ebay guy who sent me the motherboard is sending me a replacement. If it works I'll s@*t my pants because it'll be the first thing to have gone right since I decided to MOD this little black box. Which is starting to look like a mistake.
