I read this:

Yes, the 'key' at this point will be: how do you format the 'extra' partition, and how do you get apps/files/etc onto it? That'll (hopefully) come as existing apps/dashboards start supporting the idea of more partitions.

At this point, I can boot-up, and F: points to an empty partition (above 137GB). I can use it normally, but I don't have access to my 'old' F: partition (although the data is still there, and intact). If I "swap" the 6/7th partition table entries again, and reboot, I can see my old F: drive, but can't see the new one above 137GB.

so my question... if i had a 160GB drive and made the end of it a new partition like Q: could i see it and save things there through MXM?

I will add support in the next "Bug Fix" release.

Hopefully, it will be sometime this week.
mrRobinson
damn your fast. i'm anxiously awaiting 1.0 (maybe .9o at the rate your going)
maybe i'll help you along...

EDIT: There, helped.

Thanks... wink.gif

I will make support for Partition7 an absolute priority.

The only thing I see lacking at the moment will be support for formatting the partition, but I can look into it, and maybe drum up some support from others to get the correct IOCtl codes to get it done. It could easily be done with a partition table swap, though... hmmmmm....

If I can, I'll see about the formatting part too, that WOULD be a big thing to support for the new Partition7. It's undocumented, though, so I'll have to play around with it a bit.

I'm happy to see you adding this feature to mxm, i have 3 drives on my xbox, i use it for video/multimedia use and one of my drive is 160 and i never could use past 137gigs.

By they way...good thing your tip jar is getting more donations!

G-luck!

Well, better still... the next version will allow you to format not only the normal drives, but G: as well. wink.gif So LBA48 users will be able to handle ALL configurations and be able to prep their drives in one easy step.

I'm happy to have finally busted that secret, undocumented "feature" out - but also surprised I hadn't figured it out sooner. blink.gif

its good when your "huge" 160GB drive starts feeling small... and there's nothing stopping you from getting a larger one. biggrin.gif
