I would seriously hold off on making new skins until the final version of the new dash comes out...there are so many changes that the old skins will look like shit on it...

I never said anything about compatibility...I said they would look bad...

you happened to select a background and turned it blue to match the dash...which looks cool btw...however...other schemes that are not coordinated with the the original color schemes (like Mae's fire dash for instance) need a lot more graphics included to be considered complete, like the keyboard, audio manager, etc...

Apologies, BobMcGee - I see your point now - *slaps himself for being facetious*. I'll point out though that there's a little more work there than just 'selecting a wallpaper and changing the colour', a few hours of Photoshoppery went into putting these backdrops together.

I don't want to change too much stuff around - the MSDash takes some beating when it comes to looks as it is.

I don't mean to jump on this thread, but could somone please give me dummy instructions[/b] to add this or maes fire dash to a softmoded(007 hacked) xbox?The readme to Meas' fire dash is in french and when translated to english, sounds like jibberish....need help bad.

if you only have 3 then you don't have an xodash folder on your c drive - easy fix though - either make a dummy one with a dummy xbe - or indefault.xip/default.xap search for "initialize" - then scroll down a bit and you will see a line

g_bXOnDashExists = theConfig.NtFileExists( "DeviceHarddisk0partition2xodashxonlinedash.xbe" );

change it to...

g_bXOnDashExists = true;

and you've got all 4 menu buttons

Here's a response to a request by Illsley following some nice comments he made about my last set of skins. Quite glad I did this, actually - I'm very pleased with it.

Only a preview at the moment - needs some work before it looks good with the actual dash.

just wonderin if i can put all these on the root of c: then in the config menu change dash folder to "root" or c:?
tried root, and nothing shows up... also wonderin about the quick launches? where are they, or how do i launch them?
Love the matrix skins but the orange always gives me a error 21:( using 4:3 and font xbe's... Thank you all and keep these great releases comin'

Here you go - a near-final version which I'll quickly show you before I go to work.

I'm only using the red version (so you'll have to make specific requests if you want me to use the other one). The reason for that: the other one just doesn't look right, IMO, with the MSDash. At the moment, I'll probably use the other one for an Evox skin (for when I need to go FTP).

I'll drum up the 4:3 version later tonight, and then you'll have a download link to go with it.

I have a question about the background images how do you set the alpha so it is somewhat transparent, I am using Photoshop for DDS and I am not sure how to export with the right alpha settings please help

Sorry guys - haven't had much time what with Christmas n' all. Still, I managed to get the 4:3 version done, though it proved to be a bit more effort than I'd planned. I haven't had time to test in on the Xbox, but it should be okay.

One question though: I now have 2 skins (both created by Inertia, ), one matrix and the Leon skin. Now, I have 2 soundtracks on my dash, a matrix and a leon soundtrack. How do I get the Matrix dash to just play the Matrix soundtrack and the Leon dash to play the Leon soundtrack?
