i just installed a new seagate barracuda 120 gb/8mb buffer/7200 rpm HD in my box. i popped in my evox boot disk, but when i powered up i got the splash screen and then my led did the FRAG thing and i got the "your xbox requires service" message w/ no error codes.

i got a v1.1 box w/ xecutor 2.2 lite (+) w/ evox & x2_4977.

so i hooked up my old hd so i could try and replace my 4977 w/ d6, but it still frags and gives me the service message w/ no codes.

i even took out my chip & tried to boot up w/ the old drive (so my box was essentially stock), but i still get the same thing.

so i'm stuck & don't know what to do next. anyone else have this problem? any ideas? should i start shopping for a new box? =(

it's possible that your chip came out of alignment...did you unlock your original drive?

to boot MS dashboard or to go on live u need to have the hdd locked, but it can be unlocked with evox. try that switch ide cable around, i dont think it'll help but it's worth a try. ive heard of "no eror code" before, but i dont know what causese it, wish i knew. well maybe i can help u more just contact me

well, i took everything apart again and got my box to reboot, then i used slayer's installer to reinstall everything and it's been stable for the time being. i'm kinda paranoid about trying to swap my hd now, maybe i'll send it to xteammods or something...
