today i got a xbox from one of my customers who tried to install a X2L to override the f*cked tsop.he installed the pin header and the install looked clean but he put the chip the wrong way around on it.he told me that it made a loud noise and the chip smoked when he turned the box on.so i tried to install a new x2 but this doesn't help.the traces are looking good and check good.why is the box still fraggin?could the wrong placement of the x2 have blown away the mcpx?

wow that sux how do u put in the chip the wrong way? lol it only fits in one way i think lol... i think...

looks like he fried his modo.... thats why ALWAYS SOLODER!!!
you cant get the colours of the wires mixed up, well unless your colour blind

don't know how to put it the wrong way as i said i didn't install the chip.just tried to fix it but it seems completely dead...

anyway he'll learn a lesson from this one
